Patio string lights add to the mood of a party
If you’re planning a party, and thinking of ways to brighten up your patio, you won’t go
wrong with a few patio string lights. They are bright and cheerful and will always add to the mood
of the party.
Forget those old fashioned, cheap and nasty plastic strings of fairy lights. Don’t even think about strings of
different colored incandescent bulbs. What you need to look at are the new age solar-powered patio string lights
that come with space age LED bulbs. You’ll find them in different lengths from about 23 to 39 feet, with as many as
50 to more 100 LEDs in the string. They are wonderfully decorative and quite safe. Instead of individual glass or
plastic bulbs that can break if knocked or dropped, the LEDs are encased in clear plastic. This also makes
string lights flexible and waterproof.

LED stands for light emitting diode, and this is an environmentally friendly bulbs that works electronically and
emits light without the heat.
Patio string lights are available in a range of popular colors including bright white, red, green and blue. You
can mix the colors or choose just one to fit your patio party theme.
If your patio has a covered roof, you can string the lights to form a ceiling of twinkling
stars. If there is a handrail along the edges of the patio you can line this with lights. If your patio is a simple
structure made of metal or timber, you can wind the string lights around the uprights, creating a bright, colorful
effect.
The beauty of this type of patio string lights is that you can keep them on the patio permanently, or just use
them for party time. If you are only going to use them for party time, make sure the batteries are fully charged by
setting them up beforehand. Most have a light sensor for each LED so you won’t have to worry about turning them on
or off. When the sun sets your party lights will come to life.
Because they are solar-powered, there is no actual installation to worry about. You can move them around as
well. Solar string lights come with a mountable solar panel that recharges
the Ni-MH (nickel- metal hybrid) battery during the day. The LEDs cannot be replaced, but they should last for
about 25 years, by which time there’s a good chance you’ll have outgrown the lights anyway. Check our selection of

Patio string lights give a fair amount of light, certainly enough to create a party mood and a pleasant ambiance
– depending of course on how many strings you use. If you want to add brighter light, you could also hang a few
solar lanterns around as well. If people have to walk some distance from the entrance of your property to the
patio, be sure to light up pathways and steps to make them safe. You can line fences and hedges with string lights
or use solar spots or floodlights. More on decorative string lights
